Mumford believed in ‘Organic Humanism’, which meant that education must address the whole person and not just the intellectual portion of that individual.
We will be highlighting one of Lewis Mumford’s works, namely ‘The City in History’ :
· It is a non-fiction book in urban planning, tracing city histories through centuries, from ancient times to the modern era.
· Covers elements like : How cities originate, how they grow and transform, and what future cities are expected to look like.
· Appropriate differentiation between modern social theories and older civilisations.
· Highlighting the similarities between ancient civilization and the modern one, we are using the same plants and herbs, and haven’t yet domesticated any new pets, in conclusion we are still following our ancestral structures.
